For bench scientists
Bourn records your lab work as you go, from the materials and the experiment to the files, the analysis, the figures and the thesis, each linked to the step before. Months later, you can still see how a result was made.

Every step stays linked to the one before it.
Reagents, lots, boxes
A protocol, done on a day
The files it produced
A workflow run on them
Kept in a Study
Your thesis or paper
Materials as a sheet, one tab per kind, imported from Excel. Every freezer, rack and box is drawn where it really sits, with its history.
Each experiment is a protocol on a given day, filled in at the bench or afterwards, whenever suits you. Amounts follow the number of reactions, tubes come straight from your boxes, and a value that differs from the protocol asks why. After Mark done, every change is an amendment with its reason, and the printed bench sheet leads back to the record.
Files stay on your disk or the lab server; Bourn records each one by its path and fingerprint instead of copying it. Attach a file to the experiment that made it, and see everything that uses it: runs, Studies and reports.
Draw the analysis from nodes. Every run keeps its recipe, and Verify re-runs it on the same files to tell you whether the results still match.
Keep the figures, tables and values that matter in a Study. A re-run offers a new version instead of swapping it in, and each Result carries its Facts and where it is used.
Type @ to cite from your reference library. Link a Methods sentence to the experiment it describes, place figures straight from your Studies, and every number stays tied to the run that produced it.
Connect Claude or another AI app to Bourn. It can read your protocols and runs and propose workflows. Bourn asks before it reads your notes, and never lets it invent a value.
Nodes and tools come from plugins. Bourn installs and updates them for you.
